Selangor, Malaysia — October 20, 2025.UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta continues to strengthen its international collaboration network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with An-NadhohIslamic boarding Scholl in Selangor, Malaysia. Representing UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Dr. Muammar Qodafy, Ph.D., attended the official signing ceremony at An-NadhohIslamic boarding Scholl, located at Lot 1300 Jalan Masjid Kampung Tanjung Sepat, 42800 Banting, Selangor. The institution is led by Ustadz Rizal bin Jamian, an alumnus of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
This collaborative initiative was facilitated by the International Office of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, represented by Asih Melati, Ph.D. and Dr. Witriani, who expressed their strong support for the establishment of this academic partnership. Prior to the signingAn-NadhohIslamic boarding Scholl and UIN Sunan Kalijaga had successfully implemented several programs, including the International Community Service Program (KKN Internasional) and Qur’an teaching and learning initiatives. Building upon these achievements, both institutions have agreed to enhance academic and cultural cooperation through joint programs and exchanges. In his remarks, Ustadz Rizal bin Jamian conveyed his appreciation for the continued collaboration with his alma mater and stated that An-Nadhoh Islamic boarding Scholl is prepared to send student delegations for undergraduate studies at UIN Sunan Kalijaga in the upcoming academic year. Furthermore, he affirmed the institution’s readiness to participate in future international KKN programs and collaborative research projects.
The collaboration opportunity was also welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought (FUPI), Prof. Dr. H. Robby Habiba Abror, S.Ag., M.Hum., who expressed optimism that this partnership will open broader academic pathways for joint research, student mobility, and cross-border Islamic studies initiatives. He emphasized that international partnerships such as this align with the faculty’s mission to expand global engagement and enhance the academic competitiveness of its students and lecturers.
