Visit by the Islamic Community Development Program of the Faculty of Dakwah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, to the International Office (CDCIA)
Yogyakarta, November 4, 2024 – The Islamic Community Development Program from the Faculty of Dakwah and Communication at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta conducted an official visit to the International Office, Center for Developing Cooperation and International Affairs (CDCIA), on Monday, November 4, 2024. This visit aimed to present the plan for the International Internship Program Batch 2 at the Al Jenderami Foundation, Malaysia, scheduled to take place from November 7 to 27, 2024. Four selected students will represent UIN Sunan Kalijaga in this international program.
The visit was led by the Head of the Islamic Community Development Program, Siti Aminah, M.Si, accompanied by the Program Secretary, Halimatus Sa'diyah, M.I.Kom, and the four students participating in the internship in Malaysia. The presence of both program leaders and students during this visit demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting and preparing students for international experiences in community development.
Dr. Witriani, M.Hum., Head of CDCIA at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, warmly welcomed the initiative, stating, “The International Internship Program is a strategic initiative to strengthen students’ competencies in a global environment. CDCIA will fully support coordination and facilitation to ensure the program runs smoothly.”
The internship program at Al Jenderami Foundation, Malaysia, focuses on community-based development and the formulation of empowerment programs. Over the three-week period in Malaysia, the students will engage in various activities with local communities and collaborate with professionals in the field of community development.
Siti Aminah, M.Si, Head of the Islamic Community Development Program, highlighted the importance of the students’ role as ambassadors of Indonesia, introducing its culture and Islamic values in a broader context. “This program provides a rare opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they have gained while building valuable international networks for their future careers,” said Siti Aminah.
This program is expected to broaden students' insights into international approaches and best practices in community development while also strengthening collaboration between UIN Sunan Kalijaga and partner institutions in Southeast Asia. *AAS
